I decided to shoot a roll of film for the first time since about November, 2005ish. I used my dad’s 1984 Canon T70 to capture some time at the beach…

The last image is a result of a light leak caused by.. me. I completely forgot how to use film.. oops! I really enjoy the light leak though- I think I’ll attempt to make the same error next time!

And then there is this one.. taken on my Blackberry : )

Day at the Beach

I have not been to the beach once this summer and it is already July 27th. Not ok.

This image is from a trip Mel and I took down to Florida back in 2008 (that’s her in the picture!) I can’t believe how fast 2 years have gone by. I feel like that vacation was last week. I also feel like I graduated from college 5 minutes ago and had my 21st birthday this year, so I guess I’m not a very good judge of time.

In any event, I need to get to the beach before there’s snow on the ground. Geez.

"Before"

I took this picture somewhere out on the south fork of long island in February. We got lost driving around trying to find our way from Montauk to Sag Harbor, while looking at all the pretty houses and scenery. We were in the middle of the forest when we stumbled upon the beach. Not unlikely I suppose, considering our general location, but it was a pleasant surprise. The sun was setting and the air was thick with hazy fog. It looked surreal.

To the left is the original image I snapped. The image above is the product of some quick Photoshop editing to give it a vintage look. I say “quick” because it really was quick. I finally ordered more memory for my MacBook and when the little memory chips arrived.. I installed it myself. Pretty amazing. My computer is so much faster now.. its sooo nice.
